Abstract
194,704. Dupuis, C. March 10, 1922, [Convention date]. Gas injectors. - Apparatus for the hypodermic in. jection of oxygen or other gas comprises a glass con. tainer d formed with two necks g, i which are broken or opened immediately before use. The neck g is formed with an internal capillary inlet h and is connected by a tube e fitted with a Mohr stopcock f to a Mariotte flask a delivering water or other liquid under constant pressure so as to displace the oxygen &c. from the vessel d through the neck i, tube j, cottonwool filter n and injection needle k. The vessel d is supported in a stand l comprising a celluloid or like transparent sleeve m which may be graduated. The spherical filter n serves to position the needle k at the correct angle with respect to the surface b, c of the body. In modifications, the gas outlet tube passes downwards from the top of the vessel d and emerges at the bottom thereof, or concentric inlet and outlet necks are provided, or the capillary inlet is situated in the tube e and does not form part of the neck g.
