194,391. Rogers, F. H., (American Laundry Machinery Co.). Dec. 9, 1921. Ironing-machines with pressing-action only.- In a garment ironing press the movable head 5 is carried by a lever 6 pivoted at 7 and influenced by a pair of springs 14, and the pressure is applied by means of an arm 10 pivoted to the lever at 9 adjustably attached to it at 11 and connected by toggle mechanism with the footlever 17. The adjustable attachment at 11 is effected by means of a screwed spindle 12 working in a nut swivelled to the lever. The toggle mechanism comprises a lever 21 pivoted at 20 and connected by adjustable links 18, 22 with the foot-levar and arm 10 respectively. The footlever is bifurcated to permit passage of the toggle joint 23 when the press is opened. Specification 191,392 is referred to.
