283,500. Pantex Pressing Machine, Inc., (Assignees of Beede, H. G.). Jan. 11, 1927, [Convention date]. Ironing-machines with pressing action only.- A garment-press is opened and closed by the operation of toggle levers 17, 30 which are operated by a pair of pedal-operated subsidiary toggles 15, 16. The link 16 is connected to the lever 17 so as to be substantially normal thereto in all positions, and the joint 23 of the subsidiary toggles moves between limits on opposite sides of the line 2'2, 26 joining the pivots of the two pairs of toggles. The lever 15 is counterweighted. The link 30 is adjustably secured in a sleeve 31 pivoted in a recess in a lever 33 pivoted at 34 in the head-support 4. A yielding connection between the lever 33 and support 4 comprises a spring-encircled pin 36 pivoted in the lever 33.
