Abstract

193,090. Mayrow, J. J. Oct. 14, 1921. Rod joints.-An angle joint for connecting together the ends of thm metal structural members a, b, of vehicle bodies, such members having a trough-like cross-section with side flanges, comprises two parts, viz. an inner bracket part c and an L-shaped part g. The former is composed, as shown in Fig. 1, of two triangular-shaped brackets with flanges d along two sides, the third sides being jointed by a bridge-piece e which may be corrugated, the corrugations fitting into the corrugations of the members a, b. The L-part g may, for lightness, be made in two parts, its flanges h being riveted to the flanges of the members and its bent inner ends fitting the corrugations of the frame members. A modified form of joint used when the members a, b are inverted is shown in Fig. 2.
