Expansion joints; bonds.-An expansion joint comprises a preferably S-shaped pipe section A mounted on pivots B, about which it is adapted to rock in either a horizontal or vertical plane, the ends of the pipe line C being connected to the extremities of the bend A by means of universal joints D, the casings E of which are either attached to or formed integral with the bend. The intermediate portion F of the bend is preferably elliptical in cross-section, while the bend may be arranged to rotate as a whole by providing a ring or other rotatable mounting as a support for its pivots.
