Abstract

191,890. Nobbs, W. W. Nov. 14, 1921. Heating by electricity. - An electric heating device of the immersion type comprises two resistance elements in series placed flat, side by side in a metallic cover 5 compressed after the insertion of the elements into Hat tube. The elements consist of conducting wires 1, 1<1> wound on flat insulating strips 2, 2<1> and covered on each side by similar insulating strips 3, 3<1>. A metallic sheath 4, 4<1> is interposed between the insulating strips and the outer tube. The elements may be separated by an insulating strip 6, and the outer cover may be corrugated inwards along the centre line.
