Turning.-A turret tool-holder for use on lathes and like machines has the tool-head carried by a spindle b sliding in bearings c, c<1> and controlled by a hand-lever and yoke and limited by a stop h. Grooves e engage an index bolt f. When the turret is retracted, the grooves are clear of the bolt. After rotation, the reentry of the bolt is facilitated bv the flared ends of the grooves. In a modification, a spring-controlled V-shaped bolt is used; rotation can then take place without axial disengagement.
