Abstract

Cylinders, arrangement of ports and igniters in.- A charge of mixture is delivered through a pipe 9 to a small chamber 1, containing the igniter 3 and made separate from the cylinder, before the main charge enters the cylinder through the transfer passage 6. The pipe 9 is quite separate from the transfer passage. The chamber 1 may, as shown in Fig. 4, form the casing of the sparking-plug.
