Abstract

4900. Cahusac, H. B. April 13. Stocks ; sighting - accessories.-Relates to rifles having a set-down stock fitted with a hyposcope and an auxiliary trigger connected to the main trigger by a wire as described in Specification 21,318/14. The invention consists mainly in setting down the stock by means of a frame U, D, E, carrying a butt B and secured to the ordinary forestock A in such a way that the overall length of the rifle is not substantially increased. Preferably, the butt B is the ordinary butt of the rifle and is secured to the frame C by the ordinary screw bolt B<1>. The hyposcope J is carried by the upright E of the frame, and is so mounted that it can be swung sideways out of the path of the breech-bolt. For this purpose, the lower mount K<1>, shown separately in plan in Fig. 6, is made so that it can swivel about a pin K<2>, and the upper mount consists of an open - sided bracket L, shown separately in plan in Fig. 4, in which the hyposcope J is retained by a latch L' or by a spring detent.
