Abstract

Couplings, disconnectible. - A disconnectible coupling, particularly applicable to forced-feed lubricators, comprises a socket member a having catches c<1>, c<2>, pivoted on a ring f, and wording in slots in the socket wall. A slot in each catch engages a ring e carried by a sliding sleeve b, by means of which the catches are moved inwards to engage behind a flange d on the spigot member G, forcing the end of the spigot on to a packing-ring i, or are moved outwards to disengage the spigot. A spring ring g, engaging in one of two grooves k at the limits of movement of the sliding sleeve, serves to lock the sleeve. A ring h serves as an abutment for the sleeve. When used with a pipe connecting up a pump in a forced-feed lubricating system, the lubricator has a member A to which connexion is made, the coupling-flange being formed on a cap B with an orifice closed by a spring-pressed bell C.
