Sliver conductors.-The sliver conductor of a cotton, jute, or other carding-engine is provided with a number of perforations 2 in its base, through which air, or air carrying moisture, or a suitable batching or lubricating liquid, is blown. The conductor is formed with a hollow portion 5 provided with supply pipes 3 and extending behind the perforations 2.
