Abstract

19,264. Jones, E. H., and Light Steel Tubular Wheels, Ltd. Aug. 31. [Cognate Application, 23,324/14.] Disk wheels.-In order to increase the rim support in wheels having tubular metal spokes, the ends of the spokes are bifurcated, see Fig. 1, and a metal plate such as A may be fitted as shown. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the spoke-ends are secured in a stamped plate B. In the further modification shown in Fig. 6, the middle webs of tee-pieces C are secured in the slotted ends of the spokes. In all cases, the rim, plates, and spokes are welded &c. together. Preferably, the spokes and rim are assembled in the manner described in Specification 21,929/06.
