1113. Nicholson, A. Jan. 28, 1913. [Cognate Application, 2343/13.] Axle structures.-Variable-speed friction gearing of the kind described in Specification 28,534/12, [Class 79 (ii), Motor-vehicles, Driving &c.], is arranged directly in an axle constructed with two tubular arms 1, 2, Fig. 1, which carry the wheels and are connected together by several bridge members 4, 3. In a modification, shown in Fig. 4, the inner ends of the tubular arms are formed with star pieces or flanges, which are connected together by transverse members 35, 36.
