Lubricants for machinery.-A lubricant consists of such an emulsion of 5 to 25 per cent of water or watery solution in 95 to 75 per cent of oil or fat that the aqueous particles have a diameter of 0À001 mm. or less. In an example, 15 parts of a 10 per cent solution of soap are emulsified in 85 parts of engine oil. Suitable emulsifiers are described in Specifications 7498/12, 23,653/13, 25,265/13, and 18,048/14, [all in Class 81 (i), Disinfecting &c.].
