537,033. Disinfectants. SANDERS, T. H. Dec. 6, 1939, No. 31566. [Class 81 (i)] [Also in Group III] Creosote oil is treated with a hypochlorite solution or with chlorine water ; the product may be used as a fuel for heavy oil engines, or may be added in small quantities to eight oils, such as petrol, or to lubricating oils such as cutting oils for steel. It may also be employed as a disinfectant in aqueous solutions or dispersions, made by using soap as an emulsifying agent. It may be mixed with pine oil and soap to form a concentrate which may be diluted with water to form a disinfectant. In an example creosote oil is treated with sodium hypochlorite solution.
