Abstract

15,170. Chauvigney, G. June 24. Buttons.-A detachable button comprises two parts, namely, a head A, Fig. 9, having a shank b with a knob b<1>, and a socket B. The socket comprises a shell e containing a spring disk c and a plate d, the disk c, Fig. 4, being provided with spring tongues c<1> having a perforation c<2> between them, and an aperture c<3>, while the plate d, Fig. 6, has a button-hole slot d'. In use, the pointed shank b is passed through the fabric, and the socket is forced over the knob b<1>, which enters the perforation c<2> until the tongues c' clasp the shank. The button is released by displacing the socket laterally, the slot d<1> and aperture c<3> permitting this movement.
