7663. Mickish, A. March 29. Button-fasteners. - A button 1 is fastened to the fabric by a pronged staple 2 having recesses 6, which, after piercing the fabric, engage in a box - shaped socket 4. The socket 4 is formed from a sheet of metal, the meeting edges of which are notched to form the sockets for the prongs and prolonged at 4<a> and cut away at 5 to form means for opening the edges and releasing the staple.
