Abstract

14,570. Chase, H. C. June 17. Feeding openers, cleaners, scutchers, &c. -In a machine adapted to mix a uniform and predetermined amount of waste fibre with raw fibre and to disintegrate the mixed fibre and feed the mixture to a bin, lap head, or other textile machine, the waste fibres are fed by an apron 27 to a spiked apron 29 from which the excess is stripped by a rocking comb 45 while a doffer roll 40 throws a predetermined amount of the waste material on to the apron 8 where it is mixed with a mass 55 of raw fibres. The excess of the material is stripped from the apron 10 by a revolving stripper 19 and the mixed fibres are removed from the apron 10 by a doffer 23 and passed on to the machine 6 where they are to be treated.
