14,469. Berry, A. F. June 16. Resistances for heating. A number of insulated resistances are secured to a hot-plate or oven wall by means of separate cover-plates which engage with grooves or projections on the plate or wall and are clamped thereto by bars common to all the plates. In the oven shown, flanged cover-plates d engage with V- shaped or curved grooves c<2>, the bars f being secured by bolts g. The resistances a are preferably of crenellated, folded, or wound strip insulated by mica as described in Specifications 24,813/09, 18,115/10, [Class 39 (iii), Heating by electricity], and 14,699/13. The flanges on the cover-plates may have sloping sides, and the plates may be separated from the bars by heat-insulating material such as asbestos. According to the Provisional Specification, filling-strips may be inserted between the flanges and the recesses.
