Abstract

13,778. Bosch, R., [Firm of]. April 29, [Convention date]. Multiple-delivery piston pumps; valves, arrangement of.-A lubricating-system for steam or internal - combustion engines comprises a number of high and low pressure pumps driven by the same operating member. The highpressure pumps c<1>, e<2>, e<7>, &c., and one or more low-pressure pumps k with larger cylinders, are arranged in a circle on a plate b suspended in a reservoir a, and are operated by an inclined disk h on a central driving-shaft f. Another disk i operates the piston valves n, n<1>. To allow for the different radial position of the piston valves n<1> of the pumps k, the stirrups o on these valves are widened as shown. One or more of the high-pressure pumps may be used to replenish the oil in the lowpressure system, by pumping oil into the crank casing of the engine.
