Abstract

12,551. Berry, A. F. May 21. Resistances.-A hot-plate has one or more depending circular or other shaped ribs to which separate resistances are clamped so as to produce uniform heating. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, a resistance c of ordinary construction is clamped between two plates a, b, the upper one of which has a circular rib d on which is clamped a sheathed resistance c preferably of the type described in Specification 14,699/13, which is covered by insulating material g and by a polished band h. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, a single plate a has two or more circular ribs i, j, the inner one j having radiating webs k to conduct heat to the plate. The ribs may be closer together at the centre of the plate.
