Abstract

18,115. Berry, A. F. July 29. Resistances.-A hot-plate has two sets of resistances insulated with thin sheet material, and separated by a division plate b, which is in good conductive contact with the upper and lower parts a, c of the hot-plate so as to transfer heat to these. The upper resistance may consist of bare strip wound in two sections on quadrants of mica, and insulated by mica sheets. The lower resistance may also be in two sections wound on a flat ring of insulating material, or on four or more mica carriers. The sections may be connected separately or in series or parallel by means of switches. Specification 1074/11 is referred to.
