Abstract

1885. Perry, W. P. Jan. 25. Resistances. - A heating - element mounted directly upon the underside of an oven shelf, provided with contacts, consists of a wire c woven with asbestos cords d and insulated from the shelf a and from a cover-plate e by sheets of mica b, the cover-plate being secured to the shelf by bolts. In a modification the heater consists of a thin wire wound upon a slotted strip of mica or enamelled iron. In another modification a wire is arranged spirally with asbestos insulation on a plate having a central boss. In another modification shown in Fig. 6, a wire c<3> is wound on one or more studs h projecting from the shelf. Specification 1883/11 is referred to.
