10,131. Burgess, W. H., and Ogle, W. April 24. Dibbling-apparatus; ploughs; cultivators and hoes.-Relates to dibbling-machines of the kind described in Specification 21,291/11, and in which the road or running wheels are fitted with dibbling-tools, and consists in providing ridging, furrow-cutting, ridge-splitting, earthing, scarifying, or like tools to work the ground at the same time that the dibbling operation is being performed, but in advance of the dibbling- tools. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the ridging or like tools H are adjustably mounted in front of the wheels C on a cross-bar B carried by arms D, which are pivoted on the frame A or axle E and are adjustably supported by chains F, or by a link connected to a lever. The tools H may be similar to single- or double-breasted ploughs, and each may be replaced by two or more scarifying-tools. In a modification, the tools are mounted on a bar hinged at one side of the dibbling-machine and supported by a wheel and by chains. Tool-carrying bars may be mounted at both sides of the dibbling- machine for use as required. The apparatus may be employed for setting-out ground for planting trees or vegetables.
