Scotch-blocks skid.-Scotch-blocks adapted to be placed on the rail for stopping vehicles are provided with a roller i mounted in a semicircular bearing h formed in the block, and with a detachable ramp portion r. The roller is retained by an inserted piece m secured by a bolt o. The block has side flanges d embracing the rail. When the wheel of a vehicle runs on to the block, the friction due to the sliding of the block gradually brings the vehicle to rest.
