Impact pulverizers.-In pulverizing and like machines of the type having a series of hammers 5 mounted upon shafts 4 supported between disks 1, these shafts are so mounted as to have endlong play in the disks. Fig. 4 shows the provision of a small space 15 between a washer 13 on the head of a stud 11 and the base of a recess 12 formed in the disk 1 to receive it. An elastic washer 14 may be placed between the washer 13 and the end of the shaft 4. The grid-bars 19 are removable through a hole 17 in the casing, and are secured by locking up a longer end bar 20 by means of a screw 21 and nuts 23. A rib 16 may be provided in the hopper to deflect the material from the zone occupied by the central disk.
