Abstract

5583. Burnside, G. B., and Wallace, J. March 5. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Condensers.-In the manufacture of electrostatic condensers, the glass, mica, ebonite, or other dielectric is first coated with gold size or other suitable adhesive binding-material, and, when this has partly set, the metal coating is applied in the form of finely-divided powder, which is dusted or brushed over the adhesive surface. When the adhesive is thoroughly dry, any surplus powder is swept off, and the metallic layer may then be burnished with a soft pad.
