Abstract

4986. Sergueieff, N. J., and Ytter, O. F. Feb. 26. Separators for gaseous substances. - A device for separating oil from steam or gas comprises a helical coil 5, an inner tube 4, and a perforated cylinder 2 surrounded by a casing 1. Steam or gas enters at 9 and passes through the coil to an outlet 10. Some oil passes through gutters 6 into the tube 4, and some through the cylinder 2 into the well 8. The upper end of the tube 4 is curved as shown at 11, and the top plate 14 is perforated. The plate 12 is also curved, pipes 13 leading depositedoil from the gutter to the tube 4.
