Abstract

29,501. Southey, A. W. Dec. 19. Oil gas. - In apparatus for producing a gaseous fuel from liquid hydrocarbons by fixative combustion of the vaporized hydrocarbon, air is admitted at atmospheric pressure through ports E which are of greater extent than the educts F<2> for the fixed gas, and are covered with flaps E<2>. This air passes between the ignited wick D and a circular baffle F, so that, by partial combustion of the oil vapour, the remaining vapour is converted into fixed gas. The combustible gases pass down the educts F<2> below the oil-trough C to the outlet K, thus heating the oil in the trough, which is supplied through a pipe A having an overflow device B. The cover E may be swung back, and the baffle removed for cleaning. Specification 4311/09 is referred to.
