Tread bands and projections.-An anti-skidding device consists of an endless band or ring a of rubber, or other elastic material, held across the tyre tread by a strap d, or by looping it over a pin on the felloe or otherwise. If the ring is of rubber, it may be reinforced with a wire or canvas. A worn ring can be adjusted so as to present new parts for wear.
