Couplings.-The strain on the electric conductors E of a flexible cable A is reduced by the insertion of a conical plug D between the insulated conductors and the sheathing F, thereby pressing the sheathing outwardly against the opening B in the casing of the wall-plug, ceiling- rose, junction-box or other fitting to which the cable leads. The plug may be in one piece or in sections, and may be of any convenient shape; a single hole or a number of holes may be provided in the plug for the conductors, or a separate piece forming a partition may be used.
