870. Willison, J., and National, Malleable Castings Co. Jan. 12. [Addition to 9622/12.] Couplings, automatic.-In a coupling of the kind described in the parent Specification, a lock-set device comprising a single member mounted within the coupler head is provided. This member q is formed with a portion q' adapted to slide in a laterally and forwardly directed guideway g<6> in the coupler head, and with an enlarged and upwardly-projecting head portion q<2> adapted to coact with a projection f<9> on the locking-block f. When the block f is retracted for uncoupling, the projection f<9> engages beneath and lifts the head q<2>, which then falls in front of the projection, and the block is prevented from returning owing to the face d<2> of the opposing coupler head bearing against the end q<5> of the member q and preventing movement of the member in the guideway g<6>. The lock-set and uncoupling devices described in Specifications 28,739/13 and 28,740/13 are referred to.
