Abstract

42. Robinson & Son, T., and Robinson, P. S. Jan. 1. Saw spindles, adjusting axially.-The outer race of a ball bearing d<1> supporting one end of a saw &c. spindle is free to move or float in its housing and the other end is supported by a ball bearing d adapted to take both radial and end thrust and mounted in a sleeve c which is adjustable in its housing by means of a screw f between the limits allowed by stops h, h<1> so as to adjust the cutter spindle axially.
