Abstract
29,979. Jackson, W. J. Mellersh-, [Winchester Repeating Arms Co.]. Dec. 30. Projectiles. - Relates to bullets formed with a hollow nose filled with flash composition igniting on impact, and consists in making the hole in the nose with walls 3 converging forwards. A composition giving an orange flash contains 100 parts of potassium chlorate, 50 parts of antimony sulphide, 4 parts of red phosphorus, and 80 parts of glue solution. By the addition of some strontium nitrate or a cobalt compound, a red or blue flash respectively is obtained.
