Abstract
4937. Parker, J. T. March 30. Projectiles.-Relates to projectiles made with a longitudinal passage 2 closed by a base plug 3, which prevents the escape of the gun gases, but is dislodged during flight. According to the invention, the plug is held in place by a cup 5, the flange 6 of which is bent into a groove around the base of the projectile. The rear driving- band 8 is placed over this flange, and a front band 9 is also provided. The projectile may contain an explosive charge at 10.
