Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, construction of; steering.-The supporting-planes a of an aeroplane are substantially diamond-shaped in outline and formed with a central aperture b. Elevators g, h are hinged to the upper plane a at the front and rear, and are connected for simultaneous operation. Rudders i,j are mounted on pivots at the front and rear points of the plane. The front and rear portions of the plane may be cut off. Aerial machines adapted also to travel on land.- The machine has a boat body with rollers underneath and side wheels for travelling on land. The wheels are preferably of the kind with flat treads connected by spokes to a pneumatic centre or boss.
