Abstract

Screw propellers.-A screw propeller for aerial navigation has blades which are interconnected to feather automatically in accordance with the load, the revolutions, and the relative speed of the propeller through the air. Each blade u, Figs. 2, 3, is adjustably fitted to a root c pivotally mounted on a pin d, the blades being connected by a spring m. Shanks i, having gearing k, support the pins d which have bevels f engaging bevels g cut in the boss h. The movement of the blades in the plane of the propeller axis and on their own axis thus takes place simultaneously and automatically.
