Abstract

Clutches, claw.-Relates to a device for coupling to a spindle a rotary body such as the drum of a centrifugal liquid-separator, the object of the invention being to couple the drum &c. to the spindle as soon as it is slid on. The hub or sleeve 6 of the drum is out away at the lower end so as to form two oppositely-disposed tapered projections 11, with grooves 9 between them. A pin 7 is fixed transversely through the spindle, so that when the drum &c. is slid on, the projecting ends of the pin strike the tapered members 11 and pass into the central grooves. The pin 7 may be cylindrical, or provided with sharp edges.
