Abstract

24,848. Wiking, H. Oct. 31. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Powder blowers. - Apparatus for spraying powder for destroying insects &c. comprises a p u m p barrel a communicating with a small chamber h by a spring- pressed valve e. The chamber communicates with a closed powder receptacle g, and is provided with a straight outlet pipe or nozzle d having a restricted orifice. At the end of a down-stroke of the piston b, compressed air from the chamber h enters the receptacle g and carries powder therefrom into the chamber h, from which it is expelled down the pipe d during the next downstroke of the piston. The valve e prevents powder from entering the pump barrel.
