Abstract

Portable filters. -A filter for milk &, is provided with adomed regulating- plate B having a series of holes near the edge through which the liquid is directed on to the filter cloth C, the cloth being held in position by a heavy ring B<4> attached to the regulating-plate and serving to strengthen it. As shown in Fig. 1, the regulating-plate rests on a flange A<1> in the vessel A, which serves as a container for the unfiltered liquid, but another form of apparatus is described in which the container and plate are constructed as one piece which rests on a flange in a funnel. The cloth C may be prevented from sagging by means of wire mesh A<4>.
