Abstract

Portable filters.-A filter for attachment to a suction pipe f for field service comprises a nozzle a of rubber or other resilent material, the elasticity of which holds in position a readily removable disk e of filtering material having a rigid rim. The disk may be composed of filter paper between linen or other porous material, the whole being stiffened by a metal rim, or of paper g, Fig. 4, placed between disks k of wire-gauze, each of which is stiffened by a metal rim m.
