Letter-boxes and like receiving-devices.-The side walls and the bottom 6 of a letter-box 1 are extended rearwards to form a housing for a folding goods-receptacle having its rear wall 9 adapted to be secured to a door &c. The sides of the goods-receptacle are each formed in two parts 10, 11 hinged to each other, to the wall 9, and to a side extension of the letter-box. The bottom 15 is hinged at 16 to the rear wall 7 of the letter-box, and it has depending flanges 18 adapted to engage channels 19 in the parts 10, 11 of the sides, and is secured, when folded down, by means of a spring catch 17. The lid 20 is hinged to a plate 22 adapted to slide in guides 23, 24 on the side walls, a stop 25 limiting the upward motion. Flanges 26 on the lid are adapted to engage channels 27 on the sides, and the lid is adapted to be held closed by means of a spring catch 28 secured to the rear wall 7 of the letter-box and released by a knob 29, which is actuatable only from the interior of the letter-box. In use, the receptacle is expanded, the lid 20 resting on a hinged cover 31. Goods are then placed in the receptacle, the cover 31 is raised, and the lid 20 is closed so as to engage the catch 28. To fold the receptacle, the front door 4 is unlocked, the catch is released, and the lid 20 is moved into a vertical position and slid down the back of the receptacle; the bottom 15 is folded against the wall 7 and the sides are folded inwards, flanges 32 of the cover 31 being adapted to embrace the edges of the closed receptacle. The rear wall 7 of the letter-box is provided with a door 8.
