Abstract

Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and metal springs other than helical and volute springs.-A continuous undulatory spring 9, Figs. 4 and 5, interposed between the felloe and an outer rim of channel section is formed of laminated bow springs with ends reversely curved and arranged so that the centres of some are overlapped by the ends of the others. A driving - connexion is obtained by togglelevers 10 which are carried by bolts 15, Fig. 3, connecting the integral and detachable side plates and by pins traversing recesses 11 in the felloe. A plate 3 with slots over the recesses embraces the felloe. Rings 14 fixed to the felloe act as abutments to the outer rim.
