Spring wheels; tyres, elastic other than pnenmatic. -An inner metal rim B, Fig. 1, secured to the felloe A, and an outer rim C, both formed with flanges, are separated by laminated plate springs F secured alternately to each rim. Rollers may be fitted to the ends of the springs. In the form shown in Fig. 2, each spring consists of a pair of carriage springs F, linked together at their ends, and secured to both rims by radial bolts. The tread consists of plaited coco-nut fibre D, Fig. 3, held between flanges C<1> on the outer rim, and enclosed in a studded cover E of canvas or leather clamped against the sides of the inner rim between plates L. Specification No. 21,283, A.D. 1905, is referred to.
