Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic cushions.-Side plates 12, Fig. 1, with annular bulges 11 to allow expansion of the pneumatic tube, and a bed 10, are bolted to the sides of the felloe. The outer rim 17, which may be formed of two annular parts bolted together, slides between the plates and is fitted with annular packing 19. The tyre-carrying rim 23 can abut against lips 14 on the plates. Pins 15 on the plates enter circular recesses 20 in the outer rim, or vice versa. The seatings for the cushion have transverse grooves 10<a>, 16<a>, Fig. 4, and the cushion has transverse ribs. In the form shown in Fig. 3, one side plate is integral with or permanently fixed to the felloe.
