Shallow overhung-blade fans.-In centrifugal fans having stepped blades of the shallow overhung type, the blades bare strengthened at the stepped parts by ribs b<2>. In Fig. 2, the blades are shown as having flanges b<3> for the purpose of riveting thereto the outer ring c. In another form, the outer ends of the blades are flattened and the ring c is provided with an horizontal flange adapted to fit over the flattened portions of the blades. The invention is shown applied to fans with the blades inclined to the rings a, c as well as to those in which the blades are at right-angles to the rings.
