Abstract
13,878. Walsh, J. L., and Conley, T. J. June 16. Creel arrangements.-Relates to means for regulating the unwinding of thread from a non-rotating bobbin, spool, &c. in a sewing-machine &c. The spool is placed firmly on the tapered boss 20 of a hollow spindle 19 projecting from a disk 13 which can be adjusted in position by sliding upon a spool support 11. Upon the spindle 19 is placed a sleeve 23, the inner end of which is slit and extends into the central aperture of the spool ; the sleeve also carries a disk 22, which may be provided with a flange 25, which overhangs and surrounds the adjacent flange of the spool. The spool support 11 also carries a "check ring" 14 which, by the relative adjustment of the parts, may be brought nearer to or further away from the flange 25. The thread is passed in the manner shown from the spool A<1> beneath the "check ring" 14, over the flange 25 and through the hollow spindle 19.
