9937. "La Roue Maire," [Firm of], and Maire, E. A. C. April 28. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and helical springs. -Inner and outer hub members h, c are connected by helical springs d obliquely arranged and in two crossing series. Each spring is fitted on two telescoping bars e, f, and between T-shaped heads e<1>, f<1> thereon. The inner bar is pivoted to lugs on the ring c. The outer bar is slotted at f<2> and moves over a pin g in a pyramidal chamber j in the end of which the spoke i is fixed. Side plates k, k<1> with packing n are carried by the axle-box and overlap the sides of the member h. There may be a spring driving- arrangement consisting of arms r, Fig. 4, fixed to a drum q, each being connected by two circumferential helical springs s to pins t on the outer hub.
