Abstract

17,319. Perry, E. W. July 28. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and helical springs.-The wheel hub comprises a sleeve 8, a circular member 6, interposed radial helical springs 7, guide plates 11, 12 screwed to the sleeve and each formed with arms 13, and pairs of loose plates 18 arranged between the arms and formed with projections 19 engaging circumferential helical springs lying in sockets 14, 15 in the ends of the member 6. The two springs of each pair transmit the drive in opposite directions, and a stop 17 is provided for each pair of plates. Rings 28 holding the parts in position are secured by bolts passing through the circular member and the spokes.
