Abstract

8794. Pulsometer Engineering Co., and Marlow, T. G. April 14. Rotary-chamber apparatus. - A rotary drum for subjecting textile fabrics &c. to the action of elastic fluids is formed with a series of separate slightly helical lifting-blades k, overlapping endways and made radially elastic or yielding. The drum is mounted to rotate on rollers b, a set of which near the centre prevents axial movement while the remainder are constructed to allow free longitudinal expansion. The driving- gear may be applied at this neutral point. The rollers may be journaled in levers c, Fig. 4, pivoted at one end and adjusted by screws at the other. An air distributor g is disposed at the inlet end. An air circulation as in Specification 16,299/11 may be employed. The feedhopper may pass into the air distributor. The drum may be perforated in part to allow the escape of dirt &c.
